Dr. Robert Aquino is a board-certified Osteopathic Internal Medicine physician who has been practicing Internal Medicine and Integrative medicine for over 21 years. He provides comprehensive care for his patients with an holistic approach to health and wellness at the center of his care. 


His Internal Medicine practice provides him with the standardized and foundational knowledge of complex medical conditions. His specialty is in managing medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure), chronic kidney disease, pulmonary disorders (asthma, emphysema, bronchitis), allergic and immunological conditions, obesity and other metabolic disorders, inflammatory and autoimmune disease, skin disorders, endocrine disorders such as thyroid disease and diabetes, sleep disorders and a multitude of other acute and chronic disorders.  He also specializes in chronic pain management using a vast array of modalities including osteopathic manipulation, acupuncture, shiatsu, cupping, Guasha, and several natural pain therapies, including the use of compounding topical therapies.


As an Integrative specialist, he is trained in plant-centered nutrition, Western & Eastern bodywork and herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic medicine and Osteopathy.  He provides holistic therapies for skin care and other dermatologic conditions, functional gastrointestinal therapies, allergy and immunology therapies, and psychiatric and psychological conditions including stress management, depression, anxiety, and other related imbalances. His focus is to safely reduce or eliminate prescription medications with the integral compliance of changing patient lifestyle practices. He has created a myriad of nutrition, fitness, and prevention programs that are an integral part of his wellness and prevention programs. 

 

Dr. Aquino’s educational background is as follows: 

Osteopathic Internal Medicine Michigan State University-College of Osteopathic Medicine with residency training at Mclaren-Macomb/Ascension Health/Beaumont Hospitals, Master’s in Plant-based Nutrition: Cornell University, Traditional Chinese Medicine: San Francisco School of Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic training: Ayurvedic Institute, New Mexico. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, American Osteopathic Association, and American Botanical Society After residency he completed training with The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He is formerly trained in Osteopathic Manual Medicine, Craniosacral therapy,  Shindo, Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Yoga and martial arts.
